Terms of use
What you get, what you pay for, and where responsibility ends. Written in plain language on purpose.
What the service is
ColorLayers is a browser-based tool for preparing artwork for print. Preparing, previewing and checking are free. Exporting the finished files is paid.
Accounts
An account is needed only to export. One account is one person or one shop; you are responsible for what is done under your sign-in.
The first export after signing up is free. A promotional code can be redeemed once per account.
Payment and balance
- Export packs do not expire.
- A subscription renews monthly and can be cancelled at any time; it runs to the end of the paid period.
- An export is charged at the moment the files are produced. If production fails, the charge is returned.
- Re-exporting the same artwork with the same settings within a day is not charged.
Payment is taken by Creem, a payment provider acting as merchant of record; the invoice and receipt come from them.
Refunds
If an export was charged and you did not receive the files because of a failure on our side, write and the charge will be returned to your balance.
Unused exports in a pack are refundable within 14 days of purchase, provided none of the pack has been spent. Spent exports are not refundable, because the files were produced.
Your artwork stays yours
We acquire no rights to the images you open: they never reach the server at all. You are responsible for having the right to use them.
Limits of liability
The program prepares files to the parameters you set. It does not guarantee a print result: ink, mesh, exposure, fabric and press all add corrections that no file can show.
Validation compares the artwork against the numbers in your profile. If the profile does not match the real equipment, validation will be formally correct and practically useless.
The preview is a simulation, not a test print. The decision to go to press remains yours.
Availability and changes
The service may be unavailable during updates or failures. Preparing and checking run in the browser and work without a connection; a connection is needed to sign in and to export.
These terms may change; material changes will be dated below. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting the new version.
